“Education is the mother of all universal progress.”
--Dr. Bikkasani
Awareness USA was founded in 2015 by Dr. Purnachander Bikkasani, retired gastroenterologist, author, and philanthropist.
Our mission is to connect underserved students ages 13-18 with academic help and life skills resources to help them realize their dreams and succeed in life.
The United States is one of most prosperous nations in the world, yet nearly 12 million children live in poverty. That's every sixth child in America. Many of these children are homeless, living in foster situations, or in a home where a single parent struggles to pay the bills.
At Awareness USA, we believe that there is a social obligation to help the most disadvantaged children all we can, one child at a time. By partnering closely with the local and professional communities, we provide educational events, longitudinal mentoring, and life skills training.
Students in the Awareness USA community receive free tutoring, test prep, and academic guidance, with the goal of helping them excel in school, graduate, and pursue further studies in college or vocational training. On a case-by-case basis, we have provided school supplies, educational materials, computers, hotspots, and college tuition to the most underserved students.
For America to flourish and remain intellectually competitive, we must provide excellent educational and social nourishment to all children. Every child should be given the tools and the opportunity to become a responsible citizen, a productive worker, and a happy, fulfilled individual.
If you believe, as we do, that education is the mother of universal progress, please join us in this endeavor. Help us to build a better world by donating or volunteering to mentor some worthy underserved students in your community, right here in Tampa Bay. With our resources and your support, we can give kids the opportunities and encouragement they deserve.
